My Wedding Mood Board

It’s safe to say that between Shelby and I, I’m the planner and she’s the finisher. Why does that feel like such an odd word? Finisher… but it’s true, she always carries things to the finish line and I seriously appreciate it.

So when it comes to planning a wedding that isn’t happening for quite a while (more on that in Thursday’s podcast episode) I’m carrying the torch for a bit. The idea of planning a big celebration is fun to me but equally daunting. As with everything else in life, I thought it would be good to start with a mood board.

This gets to be the fun part where I throw out all my ideas and refer back to it throughout the process to make sure I’m on track. I do this all the time with my design clients and it helps them and myself immensely so I figured it would work here as well!

(I even made one for myself for season 02 of Life With Zan. This has been a peaceful visual to return to when I’m planning out or working on episodes each week. I highly recommend!)

It will be fun to look back on this in a year or two and see how much/if at all my ideas have changed. But here is my original vision and I thought it would be fun to share.

What did your wedding planning look like? If you had to plan a wedding today would your mood board be colorful, neutral, destination, small, big, sparkly? I’d love to know!

Be sure to tune in to this week’s podcast episode I’m sharing how Shelby and I met, where we plan on getting married and when!
