My Current Mindset Tools

It’s no secret that we could all use a little extra boost these days. At this point I think we’ve all been through multiple coping mechanisms and are currently in # 5-8 of “things I said I would do but never thought I would actually get around to.”

While there have been a few new introductions to my routine, some long-term go-to’s are keeping me sane through the pandemic… some much healthier than others…hah.

Just for a fun recap I’d like to note that in the last six months I have taken up (and probably quit) baking cookies, gem art, I puzzled only twice (laughed when this tiny puzzle arrived), tried Chloe Ting’s workout videos (so good and short which I appreciate), bought a juicer and made celery juice every morning, became an avid reader (circling back on this) and began a sticker collection. I’m probably forgetting something…

Making that list was pretty hilarious and I encourage you to try it and giggle at the random mix of things you’ve tried In the last six months.

  1. Oracle Cards - In my opinion these are the more approachable sister to tarot. I like to pull one every so often to give myself a new idea to focus on for the day. This can be a fun practice to add to your routine whether you’re interested in the messages or simply enjoy the process of pulling new cards. This deck is so pretty to look at!

  2. Give yourself something to plan for or look forward to. This can be something as simple as a themed night in or as big as a cross-country road trip. Dream up something to look forward to and get caught up in the planning details. Right now I’m planning how to make the most of the Halloween season and having way too much fun with it (Sharing those details next week so stay tuned)!

  3. I know I jokingly mentioned reading above but I mean it.. read! A blog (looks like you’re on the right track), a magazine, a book, browse through the images off a coffee-table book, basically anything that makes you feel happy.

  4. Get involved in your space. You’re home more and it shows. We no longer use our spaces the same way and things have gotten a little wild but we can take the power back! Sort through a pile, light a candle, create zones to distinguish work from play and own your environment! I created the High Vibe Design Guide to help walk you through transitions like this one. The 2020 HVDG is available now!

  5. Give yourself grace. If you find yourself working on new rituals or habits and you make a mistake or miss a day that’s ok. Allow yourself to show up imperfectly and embrace the flow of your current experience. We are all doing the best we can and being our own cheerleaders sure would help!

I’d love to know how you’ve been keeping your mindset up the last few months. As we enter into fall (today!) allow yourself to be supported by these tools. If you ever feel yourself falling off track come back to this list and choose whatever feels best for you in that moment. We’re all doing a great job!
